Aberration Bloghop and Celebrate in June

Aberration Bloghop is hosted by Lisa Regan. In this hop you pick five aberrant characters from fiction, television or movies.

Here's Lisa's definition from her blog:

This is going to be really simple cause I like things uncomplicated.  Here is the definition of aberration and the details of the blog hop:

ab·er·ra·tion
Definition of ABERRATION
1 : the fact or an instance of deviating or being aberrant especially from a moral standard or normal state
2 : unsoundness or disorder of the mind
3 : an aberrant individual
— ab·er·ra·tion·al  adjective
From the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary

My list will have characters from a WIP of mine, fiction, movies and television. Enjoy and let me know what you think of these dark souls.

1.

Character : Marcus Hatter a.k.a. The Mad Hatter

Fiction: Gold (my WIP)

While I decided to axe this WIP, Marcus Hatter is a favourite character of mine and a very devilish man. In his heyday he was a rampaging serial killer who worked for the Red Queen and was only taken down due to Alice fight and victory in taking over Wonderland and liberating it. He is locked away and only released to help Gold (a stripper) and a wolf detective reach Wonderland alive during their dangerous journey outside Ever City. But what is truly diabolical about Marcus is his Hat and Family History. The Hat he owns is an evil object that while it grants the user immense power it comes at a tough price, the owner has an unending bloodlust to kill anyone related to him because all relatives have a chance of using the hat and there can only be one owner. Also each kill increases it's power. Until that's accomplished the wearer is deluded with pain and delusions at inopportune moments. While he is less than five feet tall don't let that fool you, this red haired killer will take you down without a moment's hesitation and he doesn't always use his hat. Worse when hat is re-activated thanks to Gold's locket, he will eventually discover that a new potential heir is around. A son he never knew he had.

I plan to one day create a new novel with him playing the starring role instead of second to Gold.

2.

Character: Voldemort

Fiction and Movies: Harry Potter series

The Dark Lord, He-who-must-not-be-named or Voldermort. No matter what name you choose to call this evil wizard those who've read the Potter books know that he has no conscience or remorse for his actions. He wanted to take over the world and even had his soul ripped appart and placed in various objects to achieve immortality. Worse he did so through murder and even killed Harry's parents to keep a prophecy of his defeat from coming true. Harry was a baby at the time and only survived because his mother used magic that deflected Voldemort's curse back at him. Oh yes, he tried to murder a baby. Few get more despicable than that.

3.

Character: Hannibal Lecter or Dr. Hannibal 'The Cannibal' Lecter

Movie: The Silence of the Lambs

Hannibal Lecter is not only wicked but brilliant and clever. Being able to psychoanalyze people and his taste for murder and human flesh doesn't help matters. He has a skewed moral compass but does have lines he won't cross. They just don't include consuming human flesh and killing people he truly despises.

4.

Character: The Joker

Movie: The Dark Knight

The Joker played by Heath Ledger only wanted to plunge the world in chaos. He loves violence and murder and doesn't apologize for who he is. In fact he relishes it and playing high stakes games with The Batman. He is even diagnosed as being of unsound mind in the film proving he's nut just evil, he's nuts.

5.

Character: Sadie Saxton

Television: Awkward

Sadie Saxton is the sarcastic mean girl on MTV's Awkward and Jenna's nemesis. Not only does she saw awful things to her fellow classmates/schoolmates but she also has the sarcastic catch phrase of "You're Welcome" at the end as if she's giving good advice while actually making evil jabs at people's personal life and self-esteem. While this character is the least aberrant of the list she still has a screwed up moral compass that makes her not just self absorbed and entitled but feel almost obligated to be outright mean to people. Including the fact that she's overweight and feels entitled to taking it out on others since being popular and fat are a tough mix. When she loses her status because her father get into trouble and goes broke she only gets worse. No remorse or humility from this girl.

Celebrate in June!

Celebrate the Small things is hosted weekly by VikLit. I'm doing this today because there'll be no Friday post this week. So let's see what I have to be happy about.

1. I started writing my first MG novel Monster City. It is going well so far and I love the characters and story line. I'm also participating in JuNoWriMo for the first time.

2. This week I won a copy of the ebook My Life As a Lumberjack or How I Fell For The Wrong Guy(s)  by Sara V. Olds. It seems to be a fun YA read.

3. I'm awaiting news if my local entry in the Curves giveaway won a prize. Three people have the chance of winning over US$1000! How cool would that be?!!! Will know by the end of Friday.

4. I got positive comments for my Teen Wolf fanfic 'Save Me'

5. MTV's Teen Wolf returned on Monday and rocked the planet. Also OWN and Tyler Perry's show The Haves and Have Nots is just so deliciously addictive.

So there you have it readers. Enjoy your weekend.
