Waiting on Wednesday: The Dark Deep

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that allows us to spotlight books we are eagerly anticipating to be released.

This week the cover for the upcoming Middle-Grade novel The Dark Deep was revealed. I have been hearing about this book for a while through Ally Condie's twitter and my interest was piqued. But after seeing the cover and the full premise? I'm 100% down for this book.

Release Date: October 2, 2018

Pre-order: Amazon, The Book Depository

Summary: When a bullying incident sends twelve-year-old Nico Holland over the edge of a cliff into the icy waters of Still Cove, where no one ever goes, friends Tyler and Ella - and even 'cool kid' Opal -rush to his rescue... only to discover an island hidden in the swirling mists below.

Shrouded by dense trees and murky tides, the island appears uninhabited, although the kids can't quite shake the feeling that something about it is off. Their suspicions grow when they stumble upon an abandoned houseboat with an array of curiosities inside: odd-looking weapons, unnerving portraits, maps to places they've never heard of, and a glass jar containing something completely unidentifiable.

As the group delves deeper into the unknown, their discoveries - and their lives -begin to intertwine in weird and creepy ways. Something ancient has awakened... and it knows their wishes and dreams - and their darkest, most terrible secrets. Do they have what it takes to face the shadowy things that lurk within their own hearts?

I thought the cover was absolutely epic and like the meme suggests, I can't wait to read this one.

Thanks for stopping by. Friday I'll be doing a Netflix Dragon post.

Waiting on Wednesday: What If It's Us

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that allows us to spotlight books we are eagerly anticipating to be released.

The excitement for this upcoming novel in the book world is high. Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera are both amazing authors in their own right. Together? Oh heaven have mercy, I am so pumped! The cover was revealed just recently and is absolutely fantastic and touching. Personally, I'm ready for this romance but have to wait for October. Darn. But behold and see if you will be just as excited waiting for this release.

Release Date: October 9, 2018

Pre-Order: Amazon, The Book Depository

Summary on Goodreads: Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?

Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated.

Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

But what if they can’t quite nail a first date . . . or a second first date . . . or a third?

What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work . . . and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?

What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?

But what if it is?

Have you heard about this book? What do you think of the cover? I'm definitely excited.

Thanks for stopping by. I will not be posting Netflix posts again until Friday April 20. So for this and next week there will be no Friday posts. Enjoy your week and see you on Monday.

Monday MishMash: April 2018

Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme created by Kelly Hashway for sharing what's going on in your life and noggin. You just grab a button and post your business...I mean thoughts online. No biggie. Have fun!

1. Working on new WIP for Camp Nanowrimo 2018. A Cinderella retelling I'm super excited about.

2. Freelance work has been up and down but I am chugging along and had a few well-paying orders recently.

3. Due to the accident earlier this year and depression, I had to work less during a weak financial period. When I requested ko-fi donations for Grammarly in March, one kind person donated $60 paying for the entire quarterly plan. I am eternally grateful for the kindness of the writing community.

4. I have my Patreon up and running. Super nervous but I'm still moving forward.

5. Plan to read more in April. Really need to do this.

6. My depression is more under control now and I believe the hiatus did some good. Happy to be back.

7. I plan to work on better updating social media for my adult pseudonym Royme Drake.

8. Happy Easter!

Thanks for stopping by and take care.
