Getting Personal: May 2013 and Monster City

May was a good month. Why? Here are a few reasons.

1. It was after the A-Z blogging challenge. And that brought new followers and blogs for me to visit.

2. I won a giveaway and chose a paperback copy of Lullaby by Amanda Hocking.

3. Made the decision to focus on self-publishing for 2013-2014.

4. Saw Oblivion at the cinema and loved it.

5. Missed latest Star Trek movie (grumbles).

6. Super excited about co-hosting IWSG in June.

7. Have less television series to watch while the June line up is getting ready to arrive. Teen Wolf and Major Crimes are some that I'm excited to see return. And Falling Skies. So got to catch up on some more reading, writing and zzz's.

8. Pretty much another where I'm glad be alive and have fun no matter what little annoying pebble gets in my way.

Monster City

Sadly I'm behind on the word count. But I still love the story and the characters. My first foray into MG has hit some snags but I don't regret doing it. A few things including some changes in story lines and how some characters end up have had me pause to consider how that will affect the rest of the story.

  2. Great list of things to appreciate - the Star Trek one being the exception.

Hope things continue to progress forward with Monster City. And may your day be joyful :-)

  10. Sounds like a great month, even if it did have its *cough* Star Trek miss. Keeping plugging away on that word count. You can do it!

  11. I haven't seen the new Star Trek yet, either. I have it saved in my Netflix queue already just in case I don't get a chance to see it in the theater!

Good luck with your word count!! You'll catch up!

Happy reading and writing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines

  12. I'm sure you're in line like most of us, where writing goes, in that there are moments when you feel you're not up to the task. Just keep going. That's the magic of writing - the ability, creativity and power just finds a way to keep you going. I'm in need of that advice too, since I'm feeling a bit of inability with my sequel. But, I'll get back to it once my book of flash fiction and poetry is out, which will be soon. Writer’s Mark

  13. You've been a busy little girl! (Shame about #5 though.) I've got faith that you'll make Monster City a great place to live--fictionally speaking, of course. :)
