Last night I watched the series premiere of Pitch, a new show on Fox. Through it all I was at the edge of my seat for the highs and lows and I even teared up. Yes we are just hitting the fall season (or in Jamaica, September) but man did it go off with a bang. The series follows a young pitcher who just also happens to be the first female to make Major League Baseball. She is also African American/Black which brings along both a myriad of praises and issues. Wonderful that a woman made the majors but is she able to contend with the other male players? As a woman and representation of a minority race in her country she has both the honor and pressure of many on her shoulders. Then there's the big question of the world vs self, fame vs living your own life and so on. This series covers all of this in spades and that's just in the first episode. I'm definitely ready for episode two. The only question is: Are you ready to (watch) Pitch?
Rating: 5 Stars (and the solar system)
I also live tweeted with the event and below are a few of those tweets. The first one actually got over one hundred likes (now over two hundred) and retweets. And just yesterday there was a 'certain' someone trying to dismiss the power of fans on social media. LOL. Check yourself mister and get WOKE.

Amazing quick flashback. How can these flashbacks be more amazing than some of the present day scenes. #Pitch #PitchPlease— Sheena-kay Graham (@queendsheena) September 23, 2016

Then there were the tweets from others being taken in by the show. Including Pitch's own twitter page.

So in conclusion I enjoyed watching, tweeting with and checking out other's tweets for this new series. I really hope you'll check it out and enjoy your weekend. And no, you don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy this show. I know jack about the sport beyond television. God Bless
haven't seen it, I generally don't watch sports show, and also no crime and forensic and hospital ones :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good one. I'm going to watch it! Thanks Sheena-Kay!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, sounds good! I'm not watching any shows right now. I'm not sure how that happened.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Meki Pierre -- I've never watched baseball, but the premise of this show would definitely make me watch it. (Things get to where I am very late so it'll be awhile.) I'm really glad you found something you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if it would be any good. Glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteHey, I watched that young lady pitch in the Little League World Series a couple years ago. She was good! Who's to say she, or another lady with the "stuff" won't someday break through. I hope it happens in my lifetime. Baseball was my dream for so many years. I was a very good catcher. Had a strong, accurate arm and could block anything around the plate. I turned down a scholarship from our local Junior College and joined the Marines after graduating in 1966. Vietnam ended my hopes of ever making it to "The Show." Hall of Famer pitcher Don Sutton attended the same JuCo I was offered. Never, ever, give up on your dreams!

Never seen this movie, but it sounds great...
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to love the sport to love the sportsperson! So true...sounds like an interesting show.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of Pitch - not that we know much about baseball here in the UK. Having said that, I did enjoy 'Moneyball'. I suppose the sport is really just the vehicle for the story.
ReplyDeletePitch sounds like an awesome series. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this was a TV show. I thought it was a movie. I'm going to have to watch the first episode now.
ReplyDeleteI have this sneaking suspicion you liked Pitch ;)
ReplyDeleteTBH, I hadn't heard of it. Now I want to hunt it down and watch it.
Very cool! I haven't seen anything about this one, but it sounds awesome. (We've been avoiding TV around here. You know, too busy doing things like getting a book published. ;)
