Waiting on Wednesday is held weekly by Breaking the Spine. This event spotlights upcoming releases bloggers are excited about. So without further ado here is my pick.
For starters my sincerest apologies for being off the blogosphere. I'm currently catching up on blogs I haven't visited as of this week (sorry last week Thursday/Friday). Life, writing, Life. Anyway glad to be back and on with Wating on Wednesday.
Book: Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
Expected Release Date: January 17, 2017
Summary on Goodreads: On a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favored by fate, everyone develops a currentgift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not — their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?
Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power — something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.
Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuve, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive — no matter what the cost. When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive — or to destroy one another.
Absolutely loved Veronica's Divergent trilogy and can't wait for book one of this new duology to come out. 2017 will be a great year for books. Hardcover pre-order will be a must. Am I riding the hype? Oh please, I am the hype. This is one book I was ready for before it was even announced. Thanks for stopping by and what book are you excited for this week?

This sounds great, but I tend to shy away from books where I'm not sure how to pronounce names. I find them hard to follow. Hmm…I may give this one a try though.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do Kelly. And thanks for a nice writers tip to keep in mind for readers. :)
