Today I will be doing all of January's Express Yourself Meme's question in one go.
Jan 5-9: My resolution is pretty much to accomplish what I can actually do and surprise myself.
Jan 12-16: Saw Into The Woods at the cinema in December and it was wonderful.
Jan 19-23: Guardians of The Galaxy was mind blowingly awesome. Also there was the dark Nightcrawler and the crazy pants plot twist Gone Girl.
Jan 26-30: Write everyday, know your audience, write what you love.
Stripping Mermaids?
Yes my first 2015 manuscript will have stripping mermaids. Also it will be an adult novel and I am excited about finding different ways to show life under the sea from my perspectives. So far I seem to think pearls make better lighting for a strip show than floating electric eels. Imagine that? Enjoy your week everyone and remember IWSG is this Wednesday.

Stripping mermaids! Go for it.
ReplyDeleteGuardians is all kinds of awesome, isn't it?
Thanks Alex. Guardians of the Galaxy has my love forever. For movies.
DeleteHere's hoping your continue on your journey to meeting your goals.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI watched a lot of movies, and I haven't seen a single one of those. haha
ReplyDeleteGlad to meet a fellow movie lover.
DeleteMaybe the electric eels would make for a better strobe light?
ReplyDeleteYou are just feeding me awesome ideas Diane.
DeleteOh I'm excited by the idea of stripping mermaids. That sounds very original. I can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are excited Mike. A writer always needs readers and fans.
DeleteAlways wondered if Mermaids had a night scene. Run with it! I was also surprised by how mind blowingly awesome GotG was. :)
ReplyDeleteThat movie was so amazing and reminded me why I watch movies. Guess my imagination will provide an answer to the mermaid secret life.
DeleteStripping mermaids is a new one on me. So bring it on, Sheena-kay. And the pearlescent glimmer from pearls would do far better than electirc eels. It would give the mer-skin a nice sexy sheen.
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind Angela. You can't look bad under the lights.
DeleteYes, wonderful and sweet striptease floating electric eels! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks Leovi.
DeleteI downloaded INTO THE WOODS and will watch it soon. I don't get the obession with GUARDIANS OF GALAXY, it was such a mediocre movie :)
ReplyDeleteHave to disagree with you on Guardians but I hope you enjoy Into the Woods. I did.
DeleteStripping mermaids might be a gimmick to get some attention--it sounds different. Maybe I'll have to see Guardians of the Galaxy since I've heard so many raves about it, but I've heard the disses of it as well. The movie trailer looked kind of dumb to me, though sometimes dumb is a lot of fun.

Go have some dumb fun Arlee. I think you might actually like it.
DeleteStripping mermaids-- how do they manage the stripper pole? I'd pick up that book just for that answer!
ReplyDeleteI kid you not Liz as soon as I read your comment my mind created a pole the mermaid strippers could manage. I swear this book is going to be insane.
Deletelol let the stripping mermaids flow. Yep, loved guardians of the galaxy here too.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this post I immediately thought of the underwater scene in the Disney film Bedknobs and Broomsticks... there aren't any stripping mermaids in that though :)
