Today my WOW is the sequel to And I Darken. Kiersten is back again and the cover alone is stunning. How can I not be excited for this book? The blood and rivalry will be stupendous!
Summary (from Goodreads: Lada Dracul has no allies. No throne. All she has is what she’s always had: herself. After failing to secure the Wallachian throne, Lada is out to punish anyone who dares to cross her blood-strewn path. Filled with a white-hot rage, she storms the countryside with her men, accompanied by her childhood friend Bogdan, terrorizing the land. But brute force isn’t getting Lada what she wants. And thinking of Mehmed brings little comfort to her thorny heart. There’s no time to wonder whether he still thinks about her, even loves her. She left him before he could leave her.
What Lada needs is her younger brother Radu’s subtlety and skill. But Mehmed has sent him to Constantinople—and it’s no diplomatic mission. Mehmed wants control of the city, and Radu has earned an unwanted place as a double-crossing spy behind enemy lines. Radu longs for his sister’s fierce confidence—but for the first time in his life, he rejects her unexpected plea for help. Torn between loyalties to faith, to the Ottomans, and to Mehmed, he knows he owes Lada nothing. If she dies, he could never forgive himself—but if he fails in Constantinople, will Mehmed ever forgive him?
What book are you looking forward to reading that's not out yet? Thanks for coming. God Bless.
Wow! Sheena, you made me excited about this book. Sounds so intriguing!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Nasreen.
DeleteLada Dracul would be a purrfect name for a cat! I'm about 100km away from her domain.
ReplyDeleteDezzzmeister von Dezzyland!
DeleteAgreed Dez.
DeleteBlue, it would be Dezzylvania in this case :)
DeleteInteresting cover; sounds like a great book!

Kiersten is a talent I trust.
DeleteI really like this cover, but I don't think I could read the book. If I don't know how to pronounce a characters name, I can't read the book. I'd need to hear people pronounce the names first so I can get those down pat before I opened the book. Otherwise, I can't connect with the characters.
ReplyDeleteCheck a few book reviews on Youtube. I'm sure there are those who know how to pronounce that name perfectly. I just want the book.
DeleteSounds like a good read!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask you something, Queen Sheena? How many books a week do you read?
ReplyDeleteAnd did you notice how cool you look on my X-mas card? No? What do you mean, no?
Oh my God! I did miss it! Thanks so much for adding me as a gift wrapped present. So awesome. Guess I got caught up in the awesomeness of the card and missed myself.
DeleteOnce upon a time I could finish a good sized hardcover in under three days. Now if I get it done within 2 weeks that's a gold star. If it's a novella around a 100 - 150 pages I can easily finish it in an afternoon or evening. Thanks for stopping by Blue.
Goodness yes to this one too!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that Kindlemom!
DeleteMy Christmas basket is ringing! This sounds like a terrific read...and I haven't heard of it yet either. Yay!
ReplyDeleteKiersten has various kinds of great books you can check out Tonja. And I'd watch that video book review a hundred times. ;)
DeleteI want to read this book like stat! It doesn't hurt that the cover is SO gorgeous. Need! I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Sheena. =)

Thanks Alyssa!
DeleteWow, that cover is great and really makes one want to delve further indeed.
ReplyDeleteYes it does Pat.
DeleteI usually don't keep up with books that are coming out. My reading list mostly consists of books that have been out for a very long time--or at least a few years.
ReplyDeleteMostly I'm reading non-fiction these days.
