Celebrating Star Wars Rebels and Kingsman: The Secret Service

In today's world you can get amazing quality shows and movies both at home and at the cinema. Look no further than these two gems.

On Television (Channel: Disney XD, Disney)

I must say that at first when I heard Disney bought the franchise I was like damn, is Disney buying everything in sight (I think that's a yes). But right out the gate they came out with the gem that is Star Wars Rebels. I have been a long fan of Disney and love animation. This show took everything right about animation, Star Wars, Disney and a damn good storline and plot....and blew it out the water. Monday night was the Season Finale and it did not disappoint. My favourite episode for the Season so far was 'Call to Action' but this one took the cake...added another ingredient and blew the place up! I became interested in Star Wars after seeing the prequels but still my fandom was more for George Lucas's brilliance. Now I must say that I'm completely into the franchise and more excited than ever. Plus you get to see who Fulcrum is and Michael Offutt was spot on in his post that I had requested he do. If anyone is full on Star Wars with the nerd enthusiasm to match, it is this blogging genius. So yeah, I love the series and Season two can't come soon enough. Plus I called who would show up at the end from the Season finale preview. I mean when else would they bring in that guy. The Inquisitor has nothing on him.

Wikipedia Premise: Set five years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and fourteen years after the fall of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Council in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith,[10] the series follows a motley group of rebels (all of whom have been affected by the Galactic Empire in one form or another) that band together aboard a freighter starship called the Ghost. The series will also focus on the origins of some of the groups that will form the Rebel Alliance.

At the Cinema/Theatre

Kingsman: The Secret Service is now my top movie of the year. It has everything action, amazing story and characters plus a sprinkle of romance. Everyone on the poster above did their job splendidly and if you want to know more go to the cimena/theatre and see it for yoursef. It has already made over two hundred million at the box office and anyoone who has seen it knows why. 5,000 stars! Yeah, I said it. See you guys on Monday.

Wikipedia Summary: Kingsman follows the recruitment and training of a potential secret agent, Gary "Eggsy" Unwin into a secret spy organisation. Although he is not recruited for the Kingsman organisation, Eggsy joins a three-man mission to tackle a global threat from an eco-terrorist billionaire. The film premiered at Butt-Numb-A-Thon on 13 December 2014, and was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2015. The film received positive reviews, and has grossed over $222 million worldwide.

  1. I didn't make it to the theater to see Kingsman but I heard it rocks. Tons of action and violence.

  2. I've heard KINGSMAN is too violent so I have no intention of watching it :(

  3. We don't get the animated SW series here. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Thanks for the recommendation of Kingsmen. It sounds great. Unlike Dezmond, I enjoy violent action movies!

  4. I've never watched Star Wars Rebels and I haven't seen Kingsman, so I'm afraid I can't add much to this discussion. :(

  9. Oh thank you for the shout out! Okay so now that you are all caught up I have some things about Star Wars for you to think about (and perhaps respond to).

    1) We know that Ahsoka Tano is part of the Star Wars canon. Do you think that J.J. Abrams will bring her in for Star Wars 7, 8, or 9? Could she be someone that basically starts a new jedi academy?

    2) We know that at some point Qui Gon Jinn (post mortem) became Yoda's teacher to show him how to basically be a Force Ghost. Yoda in turn taught Obi-Wan. So who taught Anakin? It's been really bothering me, unless Anakin was just so powerful he instantly learned how to do it (and did so) almost immediately after his death in Return of the Jedi.

    3) Do you think we are going to see lightsaber battles between Ahsoka and Darth Vader? I think that would be spectacular because she was really good at the end of Clone Wars and now it's ten years later. That's ten years to hone skills that already had her beating everyone.
