Hello? Anyone There?

So this is my first step into the ISWG blogging part of the world. Hi. My current writing insecurity is about Briar's Dilema for Bunowrimo (June version of Nanowrimo). I have written nothing. I mean NOTHING. How insane is that? I have pretty much 24 days left and  I better put pedal to the metal to meet the 50,000 word mark by month end.

I also have book one of Sacrifice Her to send to my CPs this month. Excited about working for an August release. Nervous about the reception from my cps, me getting it done and of course reception upon publication. I know you must focus on the matter at hand but I can't help it!

This post is short, I know. But my first step into IWSG is an honest one and I plan to do more posts with this blog meme in the future.

  1. Aww, I am doing CampNaNo and it is really hard! I'm sure you will get some words written soon!

  2. Hi, here from IWSG. Sounds like your under some pressure. I know the feeling. Sometimes what helps is blocking out an hour or so in your schedule to focus on BuNoWriMo. It may take a few minutes to get into the flow but soon enough the words will come. Good luck! (:

  3. Sometimes I think starting is the hardest part. I'm sure you have been plotting and planning so I bet it will flow once you start putting it down. Good luck!

  4. You can do it!!!! Write on, my friend. It might seem daunting as you look at the whole picture, just take it day by day. Woot!!!

  5. Just stopping by from the IWSG :)

Please don't be so hard on yourself. Perhaps now isn't the right time? Even if you only manage 10,000 words, or 5,000 words, that would be better than none at all wouldn't it? :)

    Good luck honey

    Xx

  6. Hi there. Popping by from the ISWG and also a fellow Jamaican (well my mother is) and Harry Potter fan ;) Just joined your blog. 50,000 words? You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Good luck!

  7. A short post is good, it leaves you plenty of time to get your word count going for the camp ;) I give you credit for attempting it. I'm stopping by from ISWG.

    Good luck with your writing!

  9. Hi Sheena, stopping by from IWSG.

Keep it up, something is better than nothing and it gives you a foundation to build upon.

  12. Sheena-kay! You've got this girl! The start is the hardest part. Once you get those first words down and the characters start fighting with each other and you in your head you'll be desperate to finish the book so they leave you alone!

At least... that's what happens to me :)

But then they're just replaced by the next voices so I guess as writers we never win :) haha

  13. Welcome to the IWSG!
Don't panic. Even if you don't finish with 50,000 words, you'll still write more than you would've otherwise, right?
And I'm participating in BuNoWriMo as well.

  14. Welcome to the IWSG, Sheena-Kay! I'm a new follower via the IWSG. You'll love it here and Alex is the best host ever! As far as BuNo goes, just think of it as a good start. Writing because you have to is not the right motivation anyway. Personally, I could never do one of those write-in-a-month contests. Too much pressure.

  15. That's okay. Give yourself a break. I hear there's one in August, too. :))) I'll be doing that one. June was too crazy-busy for me this year. Fellow IWSG member here. :)
