Mobster Vehicle: Whichever one I get picked up in. No dark tinted windows. Nothing too flashy.

What I'm known for: In my mobster life I named myself after our National Hero the wonderful Nanny of the Maroons. She dedicated her life to fight slavery and I dedicate mine to rid my lovely island home of senseless and violent crime. I'm no angel but I won't tolerate the unnecessary violence leading to the death of innocent men, women and children. Crimes needs codes and if the criminals won't learn to take only what they need, my tribe and I will teach them how. Painfully.

My Catch Phrase: "So yuh a di duppy who nuh know who fi frighten?" (Patois like any respectable Jamaican...*wink*)

Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest: Year Two, Express Yourself Meme and Celebrate

Today is the second annual Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest hosted by Alex Cavanaugh, Andrew Leon and Matthew MacNish. Last year my 2012 post had me writing about one blogger I missed and would miss. This year I'll be upping my number a bit. Bloggers can get real close to one another and when one disappears or just becomes a blip on the radar, it can be very hard. Also we sometimes worry about other bloggers we love just disappearing one day. No new blog posts, just an old blog filled with past posts and memories. Today we share those bloggers with our readers during this blogfest.

I Miss....

Erin Shakespeare was a burst of sunshine in 2013 when I discovered her blog and have to say she's one of the funniest bloggers since Cassie Mae. For 2013 A-Z Blogging Challenge, where we got to know each other best, she theme of writing humor and gave fun laughable tips to make our posts and even fiction funny if not funnier. I enjoyed her blog so much and couldn't wait to see what May would bring. Then after a few posts she was just gone. I couldn't believe it, I got close to a fun cool blogger and she just...vanished. Then she made a post in august and I found out the culprit. Needless to say, I'm full of forgiveness.

Rory Shakespeare is the latest child to enter Erin's world and while she hasn't posted on her blog since I actually decided to try and contact her this morning after 12:00 a.m. through Facebook. Surprise she immediately accepted my friend request and gushed on how happy she was that I found her. We chatted a bit and then she said sometime about lack of sleep (she has six kids, yikes...I mean yay) and a pillow and I knew it was time to say goodbye. However we will definitely chat again and in those few minutes she even asked how my writing was going. That's how you know a true writer, no matter how short a time you chat, you need to check up on your friend's writing status. So Erin I do miss you but I'm glad as of this morning I can miss you just a bit less.

I bet everyone is like...wait that's you. Yes that's me. When I started this blog it was my latest attempt at getting into the writing community and maintaining a blog. Happily I ended up being successful at both. But sadly this year I've been under the weather and not only did I have to delay releasing my first book until next year but I have had to cut down on my blogging time. Going from five to six days a week to as little as twice sometimes makes me want to tear my hair out. I worry about my readers, feel bad about not commenting on blogs even on days I didn't blog like I used to. But things are different, I have to work on a different spectrum thanks to ongoing fatigue and hopefully when the source is diagnosed and I can start proper treatment, things will improve. I love this photo of me with my kindle. I was so excited when I got it last year. So yeah I put myself in the 'I Miss...' column because I miss how I used to blog. But I know I have your support and as I work my way back I just want to say thank you.

Express Yourself Meme

My favourite subjects in High School were English Language and English Literature. Getting to write short stories, read and express my thoughts on books was amazing. I actually miss it.

Celebrate the small things

1. I'm excited about finally making headway with Briar's Dilemma. So happy that I made it this year's Nanowrimo project.

2. Yesterday I got a new paperback in the mail. Some Quiet Place by Kelsey Sutton. Thank you giveaways.

3. Allegiant should be coming to local bookstores this month. If I weren't using my paypal cash to save for a computer I'd buy it from abroad already but priorities.

4. I finally found a proper legitimate local store that will accept paypal cash for a computer. No credit card or cash in hand needed. Yes! Now I just have to save enough. Time to dig deep, work hard and pray.

5. Another week of blogging. Even though I only blogged twice this week I'm glad I was still able to check out a few bloggers even on the days I didn't blog.

Genre Favorites Blogfest

Today is Ninja Captain Alex's blogfest and I'm taking part. The Genre Favorites Blogfest  has each participant picking their favourite genre for movies, music and books.

Movie: Drama and Science Fiction. My father loves Action movies and Drama and my mother is a big Science Fiction fan. But unlike my other who also likes my other fave genre. My dad HATES science fiction with a passion. I try to get him into one now and then but it's always a big fail. Oh well, we can still watch Seinfield together. Anywho, back to my favourite movie genre. Drama just pulls me in and the fact that  it takes on real life situations is a big plus. A good drama movie has you talking about it long after the end. My favourite movie of all times is the crime-drama The Untouchables. It's just amazing. When it comes to science fiction I enjoy being taken places I've never been and can never discover outside my imagination. The Terminator is one of the best Science Fiction Movies Ever. I will not have a debate. I also enjoy watching Species over and over, which is not exactly considered the best of the alien movies but still one of my faves.

Music: This is a toughie for me. I don't have any one favourite music genre. But I will focus on the ones I listen to most. That would be Alternative, Pop and Punk Rock (Green Day all the WAY). I also enjoy local reggae but I haven't listen to a lot over the years and the over abundance of dancehall has been a turn off because over 80% of what gets most promoted is just plain slackness. In my teens rap, hip hop, reggae and pop were my favourites. But in my late teens and adulthood I had started turning away because they lost what I loved most, a powerful message. With the exception of reggae, in that category I just felt that the music played was for an older generation, not being updated fast enough for the younger ones. I still loved the classics but the ones coming out now just do the same old thing but less powerful and frankly boring. There were exceptions but exceptions don't overthrow popularity and interest. Of course Bob Marley is one of the best musicians of all time. Best Jamaican one by a landslide.

 Like I'd ever leave out Bob.

Books: My fave genre is young adult. No doubt there. And the sub genres for that would be fantasy, paranormal, and in the last two years or so, dystopia. I was first introduced to fantasy through Harry Potter. Back then I was in my early teens and a contemporary girl. The furthest I went from traditional contemporary were V.C. Andrews novels (which I still love). But as I got older fantasy took hold and then another genre popped up. Paranormal. I was seduced by the writings of vampires and ghosts. Werewolves came into the picture with Twilight and otherwise are pretty much in the movies for me. But this genre is ever evolving and with The Hunger Games and Divergent series, isn't going to lose my interest anytime soon.

Guilty Pleasure: Animated Movies. Animation is an obsession for me and I'm always looking for the next animated movie, show or series to get obsessed over. When it comes to movies I love those that  takes me into the world that it's set in. Makes me feel for the characters whether it's for their success or downfall. That's why I'm so in love with Pixar Movies. From The Incredibles to all three Toy Story Movies (was I the only one who cried during the last one). Also Japanese anime like Akira and Metropolis, two of the best anime movies ever made.

What Was Your Childhood Monster? Blogfest

Please Note: Sorry for the lack of post but I jut got my internet back last night. Lost it on Sunday and a technician from the phone company had to come yesterday because on Monday we lost complete use of the landline. Well I'm back so on with the posting.

Christine Rains is hosting this blofest in honour of her novel Fearless which was released August 7.

My childhood monster was ghosts. I know many people don't believe in ghosts but I do. I remember as a child/teen strange and creepy experiences that couldn't be easily explained. Like hearing the sound of an oldman moaning/groaning behind the iron board. Or hearing a voice outside calling me in the early hours of the morning claiming to be a family member who safely in the house fast asleep. Then there was a really freaky experience in my teens that I won't talk even talk about here. I will only say it left me freaked out for a long time and even terrified the family member I told.

I'm not declaring myself some ghost whisperer or even that I can see ghosts. But I'm just relating my experiences and will say that I'm either right or nuts. No two ways about it. So whether you want to call them ghosts or whatever, something I couldn't see, smell or touch reached out to me. It hasn't really happened in recent years and I'm actually glad for it. Trust me, it's not a nice experience.

Chapter One: Peter Pan shot another zombie in the head.

Chapter Two: Peters' eyes roamed the hottest zombie he had ever seen.

Chapter Three: Louds' hands dug into Peters' naked chest, "Need something Miles...Tink?"

Summary: In a world full of zombies, survivors have to do whatever it takes to survive. Peter Pan and his crew of Lost Boys scavenge the ruins of Detroit for food, ammunition and anything else they can find. Their leader being immune gives them a great advantage. Then a new girl comes along, Tinker Bell. Her affliction divides them and when an accident gets Sebastian Hook on their trail things turn even deadlier than they already are. How do you defeat an enemy who can control the very thing that scares you most?

Circa: The Movie

Ok so I decided to do Circa as my WIP: The Movie Blogfest post. Circa is about a teenager from the 90's who getting turned into a computer program.  Then she gets a second chance at life in the 21st century after another female teenager attempts suicide causing her accidentally take over the girl's body. 1. What is your biggest vulnerability? Do others know this or is it a secret?

It's a secret right now. No one knows that I used to be a teenager in the early 1990's until an experiment destroyed my body and turned me into a computer programme. Now in the twenty-first century I get another chance at human life thanks to a teengae girl attempting suicide using a tub and a 'stolen' laptop. I only know her name was Claire and now I have to navigate a new world with white hair (hers was brown) and freaky bright blue eyes. I make a friend with a school drop out named Lux but he doesn't know my secret and I intend to keep it that way.

2. What do people believe about you that is false?

That I'm naive and shy. My years as a computer program has made me quite intelligent and I only avoid people to keep my secret. It's not easy to lose everything then gain something completely different. I cry alone sometimes, I have no one to relate to. I'm an anomaly, or in simple speak 'a freak.'

3. What would your best friend say is your fatal flaw? Why?

I guess Lux counts as my best friend... He thinks I'm too closed off, anti-social. I agree but I don't see it as a weakness. It's damn hard keeping to myself so I don't get exposed. What if the government came after me or those crazies who fried my body get a second wind? Curiousity might've killed the cat but it's not going to get me turned into a guinea pig or worse. Whatever worse is.

4. What would the same friend say is your one redeeming quality? Why?

Lux says I look exotic. Idiot.
