Celebrating Star Wars Rebels and Kingsman: The Secret Service

In today's world you can get amazing quality shows and movies both at home and at the cinema. Look no further than these two gems.

On Television (Channel: Disney XD, Disney)

Source: Wikipedia

I must say that at first when I heard Disney bought the franchise I was like damn, is Disney buying everything in sight (I think that's a yes). But right out the gate they came out with the gem that is Star Wars Rebels. I have been a long fan of Disney and love animation. This show took everything right about animation, Star Wars, Disney and a damn good storline and plot....and blew it out the water. Monday night was the Season Finale and it did not disappoint. My favourite episode for the Season so far was 'Call to Action' but this one took the cake...added another ingredient and blew the place up! I became interested in Star Wars after seeing the prequels but still my fandom was more for George Lucas's brilliance. Now I must say that I'm completely into the franchise and more excited than ever. Plus you get to see who Fulcrum is and Michael Offutt was spot on in his post that I had requested he do. If anyone is full on Star Wars with the nerd enthusiasm to match, it is this blogging genius. So yeah, I love the series and Season two can't come soon enough. Plus I called who would show up at the end from the Season finale preview. I mean when else would they bring in that guy. The Inquisitor has nothing on him.

Wikipedia Premise: Set five years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and fourteen years after the fall of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Council in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith,[10] the series follows a motley group of rebels (all of whom have been affected by the Galactic Empire in one form or another) that band together aboard a freighter starship called the Ghost. The series will also focus on the origins of some of the groups that will form the Rebel Alliance.

At the Cinema/Theatre

Kingsman: The Secret Service is now my top movie of the year. It has everything action, amazing story and characters plus a sprinkle of romance. Everyone on the poster above did their job splendidly and if you want to know more go to the cimena/theatre and see it for yoursef. It has already made over two hundred million at the box office and anyoone who has seen it knows why. 5,000 stars! Yeah, I said it. See you guys on Monday.

Wikipedia Summary: Kingsman follows the recruitment and training of a potential secret agent, Gary "Eggsy" Unwin into a secret spy organisation. Although he is not recruited for the Kingsman organisation, Eggsy joins a three-man mission to tackle a global threat from an eco-terrorist billionaire. The film premiered at Butt-Numb-A-Thon on 13 December 2014, and was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2015. The film received positive reviews, and has grossed over $222 million worldwide.

IWSG: Bunowrimo and March Madness in 2015

Today will be a short post. I have decided to take on both Bunowrimo and March Madness this month. Might sound like a mouthful but I do have character sketches written and an outline for the former manuscript. The latter for March Madness I only have the sketches but a good idea of what I'm writing. It is about twin girls living a secluded life with their parents and the father runs a church with a strict definition of Christianity. I plan to write the first 20,000 words by writing 1,000 words a day. Also it is an anti novel which I decided to do because the concept really interests me.

For Bunowrimo I plan to do a YA manuscript titled Fantasy Wars about a teenager who can move between our reality and a fantasy realm. A big thank you to Susan Kaye Quinn who had an exercise on her blog which helped me flesh out what once was just an idea. I plan to expand on that next week and thank another person who played a part in creating this exercise. This I will start March 13 doing 3,000 words a day. I feel confident because ghostwriting has helped me expand my daily word count and gave me deadlines that helped me hone my writing skills.

So my only insecurity is that maybe I'm expecting too much of myself. But you know what? I'm still going to do it. A special thank you to IWSG main man Alex C. and those lovely monthly co-host along with anyone else who helped to make IWSG so great. See you guys Friday to Celebrate.

Celebrating the Internet, Jupiter Ascending, EY Meme and Goal Hop

I am happy to say first off that internet is back at home after nearly a week without it. If that's not something to celebrate clearly you have never used the internet.

Image: Wikipedia

I say Jupiter Ascending on Tuesday and had a wonderful time. The technology was mind blowing and the action insane. The story was engaging despite the huge plot holes. While I can understand why critics would hate it, I must say that this is the best movie I have seen so far in 2015. I plan to see Kingsman soon so it might become the second best but for the moment, money well spent.

Goal Hop

I have started an adult novel named Mermaid Strippers and hope to have it drafted and edited by the end of the year. This is my new goal for the hop in 2015. Wish me luck.

EY Meme

I think Draco Malfoy from the Potter books deserve his own series. Hell so does Severus Snape. Especially Snape. Who wouldn't want to know the history of these two secondary but essential characters?

I leave you with a video that will give you insight into one of the two you might not have had before. Enjoy your weekend.

Celebrating Fifty Shades and EYM Sum Up

I saw Fifty Shades of Grey on Tuesday and had a nice time. Ana was ridiculous in my opinion but I truly believe the director took what he had and made a good film I would recommend anyone interested in seeing this movie to go have a look see.

EYM Sum up

Prayers for Bobbie Kristina

Today I would like to send heartfelt prayer and condolences to friends and family of Bobbi Kristina Brown. Let's hope for recovery and if not preparation for the grief that will persist if she ends up having to be removed from life support. Such a sad situation with her mom passing away barely three years go. I really do hope that this ends in recovery and Bobbi has a second chance at life.

Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month and this is a time to celebrate the achievements and strides made by our black brothers and sisters and fellow man/woman. Also to remember our history to see where our ancestors came from and has been achieved from the past right up to today.

On the Jamaicans.com Website there is an article that touches the heart of what makes this month so special. Here is an excerpt of this article:

Black History Month...Its Significance.

Published Jan 24, 2007
Marcus Garvey...“Up! Up! You Mighty Race you can accomplish what you will!”

Black History!
I and I have research my History
Now armed with knowledge and the truth, I know much about my roots.
Marcus Garvey, Claude McKay, Peter Tosh... I have to big up
Their recordings and their writings can never be too much
Since I and I start research my History.

Black History Month (BHM) is like the relationship a mother has with her children. It teaches who we are, where we must go and what we must be. It concepts are based upon traditional, cultural and moral values, centered on the family and society while reaffirming the conventions of dignity, pride, honor and race.
The brainchild of Dr. Carter Woodson, BHM is a time used to present to people all over the world the blue print of the architectural and intellectual design of Africa and Africans, long before Europeans even knew the world was round.

It is also the time to proclaim to the world our modern day achievements in the fields of medicine, science, technology, sports and all other facets of human endeavours as it is likewise the preservation of our culture, heritage and artifacts.

Some “Johnny come lately” may want us to the think that Black History Month is when Negroes go digging up their past in North America, but alas, Peter Tosh counteracted that a long time ago by letting us know that, “It doesn’t matter where we come from, as long as we are a Blackman, we are an African.” Jamaicans though scattered all over the globe join hearts and minds with our bothers and sisters in the words of Bob Marley, “arm in arms with arms” in the celebrations and acknowledgment of Black History Month... until the last bounded African is freed...then none of us considers ourself free.

So celebrate however you decide to and if you don't that's okay too. Happy Black History Month everyone and have a great weekend.

IWSG: An Official Update from Yours Truly

Another IWSG is upon us and we all have the chance to share our insecurities with understanding fellow members. Today I will be sharing with you my updates from the writing front. Attention!

The Missing Girls Series

I am excited to say that I have moved Where is Sarah? release date from March to June 15, 2015. Most of you are like....how is that exciting? Delays are often awful things for a writer and disappoint fans who anticipated the original date. But this is different and let me tell you all the reason why. I could release the novella in March. But you know what? I won't. Recently I have had an upsurge in sales for my freelance and ghostwriting work. One so great that I have decided it will allow me time to create a much better release with giveaways, better promotion, and an all round amazing time for everyone. What I do need to do so however is time. Time to create awesome swag, banners and to even radjust certain things now that I have the cash to do so. I don't plan to go overboard and drown myself in debt but right now I'm in a position to create a much better release party and promotion for my work and dog gone it I'm going to do it. Wish me luck. Also the website for the series is coming soon.

The Sacrifice Series

Yeah...this has no official release date and I won't give one until I'm sure everything is bright shiny and ready to show itself to the world. Moving on.

Fairy Tales are Stupid Series

I am still very excited about this series. I hope for a 2016 release date and like the previous two mentioned above will be available in ebook format only.

Snow

My stand alone that I have so much love for. All I will say is that when I can afford to do a paperback and ebook release properly then it will get an official release date.

Ghostwriting and Freelance Work

Is booming crazy big time. I am so busy and happy and stressed. Having a wonderful crazy time. Too bad I can't tell you too much since ghostwriting work is anonymous work.

Everything Else

All other works are either still in progress or on break. Right now I'm focused on self-publishing. When the time feels right I will send one of my works to publishers or get an agent. Either way I'm excited about this year and keep an eye out for more to come. Have a great day and see you guys on Friday.

Waiting on Wednesday: Reconnected

Please Note: The final WOW on this blog as I take my final bow this month. I want to thank all readers of this post and all my blogging. I r...
