Celebrate Hop and Best and Worst Movie Blogfest

For Celebrate the small things I'm celebrating surviving another week and taking part in the  Best and Worst Movie Blogfest. So without further ado....

I'm excited to be taking part in the Best and Worst Movie Remakes Blogfest hosted by our dear Ninja Captain Alex and company. Thank you Alex, Stephen, Livia and Al for putting this together. Now unto the blogfest and my list of the best and the worst.

The Best

Al Pacino as Scarface knocks it out of the park. This 1983 remake is one of the best gangster movies of all times. With blood pumping action mixed perfectly with heart breaking scenes, you bet this a both a great movie and remake. Filmmakers, take note.

This 2010 vampire movie had me glued to the screen. I was shocked to find out later that not only was this a remake. But the movie it was based on was from 2008. Well I must say I'm glad they didn't wait longer to release this one, it's a great movie and shows we don't only want to watch sparkling vampires or hoards of horror inducing ones either. A friendship between a young vampire girl and human boy in a world she can never truly fit in and he's being bullied is enough.

This 2005 movie gripped me til the end. I didn't know it was a remake before taking part in the blogfest and I don't care. One of the best cop movies ever and most of it had the 'good guys' (who were both hardened criminals and law enforcement) trapped in a police precinct with the threat of death over their heads if they didn't hand over one man. Talk about drama.

The Worst

The Omen (2006)

This was a BAD movie. Even worse it was a terribly done movie based off a wonderful classic. Like the guidance counsellor on MTV's Awkward said to Jenna "Shame on You." I think this is the perfect representative of all bad remakes. Because it clearly shows when filmmakers put making money over making a good film. And a real 'sucky' film at that.

Thank you for popping by and remember to check out other blogs taking part in this blogfest.
