25 Roses, Bella's Point Cover Reveal and IWSG

A double whammy folks! Two covers both by amazing authors. Funny enough I met Stephanie through Elizabeth having a giveaway on my blog and we visited each other through the A-Z Blogging Challenge. Both of these ladies have amazing covers today and whether you love romance gone awry or wayward Southern Belles, there is a book here for you today. Enjoy!

25 Roses by Stephanie Faris

Summary: Valentine's Day means one thing at Stanton Middle School: students will send each other chocolate roses. Each year, Mia Hartley watches while the same group of students gets roses and everyone else is left out. This year, she decides things will be different. As the student assigned to write names on the cards, Mia purchases 25 roses and writes her own cards, designating them to 25 people she's personally chosen. But she soon learns that playing matchmaker is much more complicated than she thought it would be.

Bella's Point by Elizabeth Seckman

Did you know? Robert E. Lee, the most prominent Confederate general, had his Northern home confiscated during the Civil War and turned into a cemetery. Arlington National Cemetery is still the resting place for America's fallen service men and women.
Isabella Troy Stanley is a divorced, slave freeing pariah surviving in the shattered post Civil War south the only way a fallen debutante knows how.
She heads to a Yankee prison and buys herself a husband.

Jack Byron is the former Troy plantation stable boy and object of young Bella's affection. He rejected her then, and he's still not sold on the idea of marrying her now.

 It’s complicated.

Though to Bella, it’s simple: make Jack love her, marry her, and live happily ever after. The plan seems to least until her secret is revealed.

Elizabeth is a wife, a mom, and a writer. She has four wonderful boys, one dusty house, and three published books to her credit. Feel free to check them out and buy them HERE! Erm, the books, not the kids or the house...though all things in life are negotiable ;)

Last month I took part in the A-Z Blogging Challenge last month. While I was unable to complete some of the letters I ensured to be back for Z and on a whole it was a wonderful experience visiting other blogs and having readers/bloggers coming by my own. What wasn't so wonderful was the fact that I got sick. Then just as I was getting better at the end of the challenge I caught another bug. This one is similar as the one I caught in December and is pretty nasty. I didn't even do any washing Tuesday because I was just too sick and pained to bother. At least I ensured to get my mother's day gift Monday so matter what happens it is gift wrap and ready for her on that very special day.

What my insecurity is this month is that I am concerned about getting sick more often. At first I thought things were getting better but now it has reared it's ugly head again. I am nearly ready to get my own laptop and while I'm grateful to have my own computer in time for Junowrimo I still wonder how everything will work out if I am sick all the time. My writing has suffered a lot and my ghost writing gig only gets done sometimes only  because each assignment is set with a time limit. But once when I could do a five day gig in one to two days I barely get it in on the fourth. This worries me because sometimes I just end up going to bed because I'm just too sick to work on it. None of my work ends up late but I can' t work anywhere near the pace I'm used to any more. I guess I just want to figure out how to work through this. Though I guess I just have to work through it or despite it. I'm no quitter but this more than a drag. This is my health and I am worried. Wish me luck and pray for me.

Oh and if you're wondering, yes I did forget about IWSG and just added this early Wednesday morning. But I did skip last month and no way am I losing my spot. Thanks Alex and co-host for such a wonderful meme.

  1. Thank you! And I'm honored to be in such good company. Elizabeth's cover is beautiful.

    1. It is and I'm glad you came by Steph. Your cover is amazing and eye grabbing.

  2. So many lovely covers going around at the moment. Congrats to both ladies.

  3. wonderful to see the cover reveals-congrats to both

  4. Congrats to Stephanie and Elizabeth. Both have beautiful covers!

I was sick a lot last year. It certainly can get you down. The only thing you can do is to be kind to yourself.

  5. Big congrats to Stephanie and Elizabeth on their new covers! So exciting!

  6. Two awesome covers! Congrats to Stephanie and Elizabeth. :)

With a child in preschool, he brings home lots of sicknesses. I worry about getting sick more often too. Yet, as Lynda said, we can only be kind to ourselves.

  7. Both of your featured books look like ones I'd like to curl up with. I'm sorry you've been sick and sick again. Are you taking good care of yourself? You know, good diet, exercise, enough sleep? Maybe a check-up with your doc is in order? You definitely want to come out on top and remain healthy from here on out. Hope you've shown that nasty bug who's boss!

  8. I hope you feel better soon! I had this all through January, I really wanted to write but couldn't because of illness, so I know how you feel.

  9. I hope you start feeling better. No one likes to feel sick. It's impossible to do any work when your body won't cooperate.

  10. Stephanie and I together? How awesome is that?!

I worry about your health too. You should make sure there isn't something underlying in your health, maybe get a check up? If you can't do that...perhaps take steps to boost your immune system (I was making myself sick with lack of sleep and too many sweets instead of healthy food)

So, make sure you are sleeping enough. Eat healthy. Add some vitamin b to your diet. Watch the sugar (it makes me sooo tired). And quit stressing over it...I think the worry just makes us lock up more. I know it does me.

Hugs sweetie! I hope you feel better soon!!!

  11. 25 Roses looks super cute! And I'm so happy for Elizabeth. It looks really great!

I'm sorry to hear you've been so sick. I've been there. Definitely make sure there isn't something else going on. But above all, rest is what you really need.

Take care of you first and everything else second (easier said than done, I know).

    Hope you feel better soon!

  12. Health is so precious. It is the greatest treasure we have and things can get really complicated when we don't have it. I'll be praying for you.

  13. Love Elizabeth and Bella's Point looks great!!
25 Roses sounds really cute, too! The cover is sweet, too. :)
I'm so sorry you are having health issues. Best of luck to you. You'll be in my thoughts. :)

  14. That first cover is really cute, and the second one is SO PRETTY!
I do hope your health improves ... maybe you need to take a break from everything to kind of restore your system?

  15. Yay for Elizabeth and Stephanie! I love both their covers and concepts.

Have you had your place deep cleaned? I would also check for black mold and other noxious substances, including your pipes and water. I have allergies that increase when I'm stressed (which has been all the time for the last couple years) and I've found that regulating your environment will often assist or resolve a number of issues. I feel for you though. I spent almost a year in bed because of my issues. Take care of yourself, eh?

  16. You have to take care of yourself.

  17. A great gift! I hope you have improved your condition and is fully restored its health!

  18. Oh girl, I hear you on the health thing. Been battling it four straight years now. Prayers, rest, and trust in God's plan, as hard as that is. You seem to be able to accomplish a lot despite illness, but don't push yourself too hard, OK?

  19. I won't delete your spot!
Maybe you need to start taking vitamins and watching what you eat. Certain foods actually promote health.

  20. Both are lovely covers! I already have Elizabeth's on my TBR list. Guess I'm adding one more now.
Sorry to hear you aren't doing well lately. Hopefully, it's something that will pass. Watch after yourself.

  21. Two lovely covers!

    I'm so sorry you've been ill :(

  22. Congrats to Stephanie and Elizabeth! Both are fantastic covers!

And I'm sorry you're getting sick again. I feel like we can't escape germs here. It just passes from one kid to the next, then onto me, and around it goes. Dreadful! Hang in there. Gets lots of rest and drink your orange juice!

  23. Congratulations to Stephanie and Elizabeth! I hope you feel better, Sheena-kay!

  24. Those are both beautiful covers! Being sick is definitely no fun and I hope you feel better soon. Last year I worked in a daycare and I got the stomach flu 3 times in a month. Yeah, it was beyond awful. Babies share EVERY germ. So hopefully you get past this!

  25. I'm so sorry you keep getting sick, Sheena-kay. Just keep trying to be positive and keep writing. I'll be praying for you <3

  26. Sorry you've been sick recently, and I hope your health improves soon. It's always tough staying focused on work when you're unwell, but don't be too hard on yourself if you have to take time out, getting better is what's most important. <3
