CassaStorm by Alex J. Cavanaugh
A storm gathers across the galaxy…
Byron thought he’d put the days of battle behind him. Commanding the Cassan base on Tgren, his only struggles are occasional rogue pirate raids and endless government bureaucracies. As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.
After enemy ships attack the desert planet, Byron discovers another battle within his own family. The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son, shaking Bassan to the core and threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.
Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that might signal the end of all life in the galaxy. And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could be on its way back. As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

Book & Author Details:

The Prophecy by Rachel Deagan
Publication date: February 8th, 2013
Genre:YA Urban Fantasy/Science Fiction
“The cards tell me of the children of the stars.”

Jacey thinks her life is worthless, when she finds herself in a psychiatric hospital after a failed attempt to end her life; her wounds miraculously healed. Devin, who claims to kill on touch, is also there. When Michael arrives, bearing telekinetic powers, he insists the government, and an even darker, more powerful force, wants them dead.

In a desperate attempt to escape for their lives, the three teens find they must confront an even greater adversary, themselves - and with a prophecy forced upon them, they must find a way to accept their fate, or rebel together, as one.

Rachel Deagan
Rachel grew up in small town Massachusetts where she spent most of her time writing about strange paranormal creatures instead of paying attention in class. She has always been considered the 'dreamy' one with her head in the clouds. She now lives in Nevada with her two sons, a cat, and a rat named Sam.

Celebrate the small things

I forgot to post last week. But I'm here this week and these are the small things I'm celebrating.

1. Getting a positive first chapter critique from Carrie Butler.

2. Pain meds, been having some bad headaches lately and finally caved in buying some.

3. My kindle. I have borrowed some really great books lately including Hollowland and What a Boy Wants.

4. God. He is the grand master of everything.

  1. Amen on that last one!
    Congratulations, Rachel.

  3. Aw, hope your head aches get better. I suffer from migraines and know how not fun they can be.

And yay for helping out Alex, as he helps so many here.

And My God is good. All the time!!

  4. Congrats on the critique and hope your pain goes away soon.

  5. Congrats to Alex and Rachel!
